Designed By Eleanor offer fantastic, affordable and professional Graphic Design, for Print and Web
After I left school I found myself in a number of jobs, all of them completely unconnected with design and creativity.
One day I took part in a course for young parents. The course basically asked young parents to think about their future, and their goals and aspirations ...... this was my light bulb moment!
The course inspired me to attended South Devon College and and study for a National Diploma in Graphic Design. Afterwards, at Plymouth College of Art and Design, I achieved a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design.
Then the rollercoaster that is the job market hit…
I couldn’t find work for a while, but managed eventually to find a position at Gomango. This was great fun, and helped me find my feet with professional design work. What followed is classic ‘frustrated entrepreneur’ stuff. I worked at various companies in roles that covered design and advertising and even publishing, before being made redundant from Fermoys Garden Centre.
But Fermoys asked me to come back as a freelancer, which is when it all finally clicked. Freelancing with Fermoys was fun, but I started to realise that I actually had enough commercial experience and drive to open my own business.
That’s when I opened up a studio in Torquay.
What is Designed By Eleanor? Well, it’s a perfect mix of my intense passion for design, and my commitment to making clients happy. I like to think I’ve got the balance between artistic flair and commercial intelligence perfect.
I’ve worked with a lot of fascinating clients. Temptations is one of them. If you check out the work I created for them on the Home page, you’ll get an idea of my approach to colour and impact.
I’ve also been lucky enough to work in all sectors, and a recent important project has been my work with the Child Death Helpline. They do vital work, and it has been an honour to supply my services.
